Steal my planning and review process
Jan 05, 2024I want to walk you through my planning and review process that I go through on an annual basis. It's a process that I take clients through and consider it as part of my quarterly planning.
Reflection and Planning
When I go into a planning session, I start by getting a giant piece of paper and all of my pretty markers. It helps me get into the mindset of creating something incredible out of nothing. I then have a CEO moment of reflection, going through income streams, future goals, audience growth, team, and professional development.
Income Streams
Right now, my income streams are:
💰 The Power Project
💰 The Catalyst Club
💰 One-on-one coaching
💰 Speaking and consulting (to be focused on more in 2024)
For each income stream, I evaluate what's working, what's not working, and opportunities for improvement. This is my version of a SWOT analysis, where I look at internal and external experiences.
Audience Growth
I focus on audience growth tactics and strategies, including:
✨ Big Money Energy client private podcast
✨The Hub (a platform for rural and regional women)
✨ Facebook group
✨ Instagram
✨Podcast
I realised during my review process that I had neglected to include the podcast as a growth strategy, prompting me to rethink my approach and create a separate strategy for its audience growth.
Team and Professional Development
I put on my HR manager hat to evaluate my team, roles being done, and areas for improvement. I also consider professional development and the need to surround myself with the right people to uplevel my business.
Forecast and Cash Flow
Wearing my CEO hat, I look at the cash flow forecast, client capacity, ad spend, and analytics for the year. This helps me plan my expenditures for the upcoming year.
Chief of Operations
In this role, I get nitty-gritty with checking on launches, content strategy, internal systems, and deciding to bring in an OBM for a project to streamline processes.
This is just a glimpse into my review process, but it's a critical part of my annual planning. I believe that high-level planning doesn't have to be complex, and the core questions of what's working and what's not working are key to the process.
