What your customers aren't saying about you

Do you have stories inside your head that stop you from acting? Maybe they stop you from

jumping on stories or hold you back from hitting send on that email. Or maybe you’ve been wanting to do a brand photoshoot, but you keep saying you’ll book it once you lose five kilos. 

Here’s the truth ladies. Our audience is not saying anything like the stories going on in our heads.


If you think your customer is going say things like:

  • “Ugh. She’s sent me an email, she must be desperate.”⁣

  • “Gosh her fine lines are really showing in the Instagram story.”⁣

  • “I wish she’d get off my newsfeed, I’m really sick of hearing about her business.”⁣

  • “That’s not a very flattering angle for her.”

You are so wrong. And these ideas are likely holding you back from some serious opportunity. 

When you think about average reach on socials, 5-20% of your audience might see your content. That depends on a combination of factors like audience size, activity, and the content itself.

So it is extremely unlikely your audience is going to feel bombarded by what is actually consistency. It is much more likely they’ll reward your consistency with likes and engagement and conversation.

 When you consider email open rates think about a few things. First off, they chose to hear from you (that’s how they got on the list, right?). Secondly, open rates are around 20-50% so not every person will actually open every email. 

Remove the pressure of thinking you’re omnipresent on the internet. You’re not. You’ll be lucky to reach the same person twice a day via any marketing channel⁣. And if you do reach them twice in a day, it means they’re an engaged, active, and supportive member of your audience and WANT to hear from you.

And if you’re worried about wrinkles, outfits, hairstyles, or weird accents- that’s not what people are tuning in for. They want value and authenticity. Show both sides of the coin. Take them behind the scenes with you. This will help so much to build an authentic relationship. 

So. Please. Get out of your own way. Get visible. Speak to your audience. ⁣

 

It’s more likely your audience is saying things like:⁣

🥂 “Ohhh I need that cool clutch she’s talking about”⁣

🥂 ”That is so valuable to me, exactly what I needed to hear”⁣

🥂 “I love her stuff.”⁣

Because if they didn’t. They would unsubscribe or unfollow. And that’s fine. You want to connect with your ideal customer- so if they unfollow BYE. ⁣

We need to stop letting our own ego and our own fear hold us back. There is so much value in visibility. And the sooner you discover it the sooner you can amplify it to greater return in your business.
