The two-step sales funnel

Really it’s one thing. But we’re going to break it into two parts. Relationships. Creating new ones. Furthering existing ones. Am I oversimplifying the sales funnel? Yes but I have a good reason!

Now if a sales funnel has ever seemed overwhelming or scary. Or you question if you even have one in place. You can see clearly that with the two-step sales funnel, you probably have one in place. 

If you came here looking for a magic wand that allows you to bypass the work and just gets you a sale. Sorry wrong place! But let’s dive into how the two-step sales funnel works, and why every sales funnel is really just two steps. 

So building new relationships is the first step of every sales funnel. Pouring energy into attraction. The strategy behind this step can look like a lot of different things- Facebook groups, hashtag strategy, cross-promotion, adverts, blogs, and Google. Any way a person can stumble across you, this is the first part of your sales funnel. 

It is SO important because if we don’t keep filling our sales funnel with new relationships, we don’t get to keep building on these relationships and develop them into sales. 

So step two is furthering relationships. And now this is where a bulk of your marketing efforts lie, in the nurturing. Creating freebies, sending newsletters, posting on socials, sending out updates- essentially providing TONS of value and creating a connection with someone that was previously unknown to you. And like step one, there are a million ways this can happen. 

The most important part of the two-step sales funnel? Doing it intentionally, acknowledging which activities are for step 1 and which are for step 2.

Ask yourself what you can do to create new relationships in your business or further existing ones? I think stripping away the complication, the jargon, and the layers make sales funnels really help you create content and marker with focus. 

Hopefully, you can clearly see that all your marketing falls into one of the steps, and truly the purpose of everything you do in your promotions strategy is to just further relationships. 

This is why it is crucial to create a brand people connect with. Show your face, show your behind-the-scenes, and let people peek into your world. They’ll feel connected and invested, furthering their relationship with you.
