Outsourcing for growth

Jun 02, 2020

If you’ve hit the point where you are maxed out and couldn’t possibly fit another hour of work into your life, but you are chasing big income goals. Then it’s time to make some changes.

Outsource. What are you doing in your business that you could hand over to someone else? Outsourcing is a fantastic way to make room in your business for extra income growth. Hiring an expert is cheaper than you probably think. They will get the job done faster and you know they’ll do it correctly. Now don’t worry if there is no one to outsource to in your small country town! So many professionals conduct their business 100% online, so you can access an expert anywhere. Some areas to consider outsourcing:

  • Virtual Assistant: this could be any task from bookkeeping to admin to marketing support. I personally love both my VAs and they have made a world of difference to my business! They work on a contract basis as much as I need them to.

  • Human Resources: This is a space I strongly recommend outsourcing, especially as your business grows. An HR team can get your contracts, employee manuals, job descriptions, and pay packages right from the start. Rather than you spending hours reading about award rates and trying to stay on top of legislation changes, just outsource. It’s one area of business we seem to all try to do, but our capacity is definitely better spent elsewhere.

  • Social Media: Now I will say, I believe this is one area you need to be on top of before you outsource. But once you are confident with how you want to show up in the digital world, then by all means outsource it! A social media manager will have various packages with different levels of support!

  • Bookkeeping: I think we all hit a level in our business when day-to-day bookkeeping is no longer a priority. And when that day comes it is time to outsource. Once again because everything is digital, forwarding emails and invoices are all too easy.

As professionals, the businesses you contract to will already have systems in place for how they collect information. So it should be a fairly streamlined process to bring them on board as part of your team!

A few questions to ask yourself before you outsource.

  1. How many hours are you spending on that task?

  2. What is your time worth?

  3. What does the opportunity cost? How much could you make the business in those hours that are now free?

If you know you could make your business more money if you had more time. Then 100% it is time to outsource. Start asking for recommendations in your business community. Start preparing the tasks you want to offload.
